About me

My Background

After qualifying as a mental health nurse within the National Health Service, I trained to be a psychotherapeutic counsellor and later completed extensive post-graduate training to become a psychotherapist. Below is a list of my qualifications, which I am regularly updating with continued professional development.

My practice with clients and my own regular supervision sessions contribute enormously to my personal growth, both as a psychotherapeutic counsellor and psychotherapist in Tonbridge and Maidstone, and as a maturing and developing individual.

My Experience as a Counsellor and Psychotherapist in Kent

As an experienced counsellor and psychotherapist working in Tonbridge and Maidstone, I have had experience of seeing clients in a GP practice and I have run my own private practice since 2002. I hold a post of senior psychotherapist in the NHS and I also continue to practise as a mental health nurse within various healthcare settings.

As a therapist, I am a member of the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP); and an accredited member of the British Association of Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP) and United Kingdom Register of Counsellors & Psychotherapists (UKRCP).  As a nurse, I am registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC).

I abide by the BACP, UKCP and NMC Codes of Conduct, which can be found on their websites, and involve maintaining confidentiality; acting with integrity and professionalism; attending regular supervision; and holding professional indemnity insurance.  

My Own Experience of Therapy

Naturally, I have also received my own in-depth therapy over several years so I am able to appreciate how it feels to be a client.
